In 2012, I was walking in the woods near my home when a big limb broke off a tree and struck me in the head, knocking me to the ground. My back was fractured and my skull sustained a four inch long crack across the forehead. In the emergency room, a metal plate was surgically screwed into my skull to cover the cracked area. Everything happened so quickly, and I was in a daze from the trauma.
Despite taking pain medication for two years, I still had a lot of pain. I wasn’t improving, so I knew I had to do something to increase my quality of life. After working diligently at improving my diet, including lots of healthy vegetables, I started feeling stronger. I drank lots of water to help flush out my body after starting to cutting back on the pain medication.
Along with taking good quality anti-inflammatory herbs, vitamins, and minerals, I meditated every day for relaxation. The mind is powerful for controlling emotional swings. Month by month my health continually improved. I knew my life would never be the same after such a traumatic injury, but now I’m able to care for myself naturally, and I’m feeling tremendously better.
Overall, to become healthier naturally, it takes changing the entire lifestyle: a new diet, drinking more water, meditation, nutritional supplements, and getting a good night’s sleep. It wasn’t just one thing that improved the quality of my life; it was a combination, especially an optimistic attitude. I experienced that our Heavenly Father blesses those who work hard at accomplishing something, while asking Him for help through the process.
